Christ Little Tulpehocken Cemetery, 40 Church Rd, Bernville, Berks Co., PA, USA

Not to be confused with Christ Lutheran Tulpehocken Church, Womelsdorf, west of Stouchsburg, Berks Co., PA. Organized in 1729, Christ Little Tulpehocken Church is one of the early Lutheran churches founded by Rev. John Casper Stoever who started the parish records in 1730. A log church, erected before 1749, was replaced by the current stone building in 1809. Since 1853, Lutheran and Reformed services have been held at Christ Little Tulpehocken Church.

The Old Graveyard at Christ Little Tulpehocken Church contains about .7 acre of land and over 400 tombstones. There is evidence of a number of tombstones which were borken off and now only a base remains below the ground. There is no record of who may have been buried there. The earliest recorded burial is that of Andreas Beyer who was born in 1710 and died in 1768. The last person buried in the Old Graveyard was Isabelle Lengel who was born in 1865 and died in 1962.

A new cemetery was begun in 1893 which contains over 500 burials and is still in use. (text by R Stauffer)
